Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Quito / Hacienda El Porvenir Trails

We leave your hotel in Quito early in the morning (07H30) and head towards Hacienda El Porvenir. After testing our bikes and a short briefing of how to handle them, we start riding on the hacienda trails. This NEW single track pass through native woods that have been planted for habitat restoration and conservation. We will enjoy a delicious lunch and then return to our mountain biking adventure on a different trail.

DAY 2: East Route and El Tambo trail

Hacienda Breakfast. Today’s ride will cover 42 km with an average altitude of 3,800 m/12,464 ft. It is a worthwhile effort. We will cross the eastern road of Cotopaxi National Park, visiting some sites on the way including Inca Ruins, fresh water springs and Andean lakes. We will then follow a beautiful 18 km (11 miles) exclusive trail to El Tambo. Box Lunch. At our arrival to El Tambo Hacienda house, we will be welcomed with a drink next to a crackling fireplace and a hot shower. A delicious dinner will be served.

DAY 3: The Road of the Lahars and return to civilization

Hacienda Breakfast. We leave early from the El Tambo house and begin our return to civilization. The first 20 km (12 miles) have a slight uphill inclination and short climbing portions. Once we reach El Encañonado, the road flows downhill and the bike can roll without much physical effort. Box Lunch. We reach the higher road of El Canal, which is a flat road following a water canal. The views are superb. We pass by Limpiopungo Lake and bike to Hacienda El Porvenir. We will then have some drinks at El Porvenir and drive back to Quito and hotel.

Bikes provided for tour: Bull King Cobra model 2012 (German manufacture), Components: Shimano SLX, front suspension, hydraulic disc brakes. For an extra fee of US$360 you can also hire our Ibis Mojo carbon frame, full suspension 140mm, hydraulic disc brakes
