Today we will focus on the exquisite fusion between Peruvian ingredients and diverse world renowned techniques. We will begin our tour in Lima, visiting a typical Peruvian market and explore the variety of products offered. We will learn how to prepare a delicious Peruvian Ceviche and Pisco Sour, national drink at a local restaurant. And, we will delight our palates with a traditional lunch.
Later, we will go to a coffee Lab for a Peruvian coffee experience. We will learn how to brew coffee from the 3 regions in Peru.

DAY 3: LIMA | INC: B/L/-

In the morning, we will drive along the main streets, squares, and avenues of the city. We will start with a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, San Isidro, the financial center of the city, we will see Huaca Huallamarca. We will then continue to the Main Square, where we will find the Government Palace and the City Hall. We will visit the Cathedral and explore the Santo Domingo Convent. Finally, the Larco Museum where you will find treasures that have been exhibited in the most prestigious museums of the world. We will enjoy lunch at Café del Museo restaurant located inside the Larco museum.

In the afternoon, we will give a walk by Barranco, bohemian district. At the end we will visit a local restaurant where we will have the opportunity to try picarones, the famous traditional Peruvian dessert prepared with pumpkin and sweet potato.

DAY 4: LIMA/CUSCO/SACRED VALLEY | INC: B/L/-

Transfer to the airport and flight to Cusco. On arrival, meet and greet at the airport, transfer to hotel.

From the Cusco airport, we will visit the local community of Misminay, located in the outskirts of Cusco. The tour to the village goes through native botanical species crop fields. Families live along in small single or double room houses, made out of adobe. They raise guinea pigs (cuyes), cattle and sheep. You will be able to plow or harvest the and enjoy a traditional lunch cooked by the ladies of Misminay. Additionally, you will observe the ladies spinning, wool dyeing with natural ingredients. We will continue our journey to Maras, the famous and ancient salt mines of the colonial era. The contrast of its wells white with the green valley is impressive and not to be missed for a postcard spectacular of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

DAY 5: SACRED VALLEY | INC: B/L/D.

One of the reasons for the growing success of Peruvian food worldwide is access to the fresh ingredients it’s based on. In the morning, we will enjoy an experience that creates the optimum conditions for you to see, smell, touch and taste ingredients from the root, cultivated using no pesticides or additives. Harvest, prepare and cook with the close guidance of our chef, enjoy the freshest, most delicious meal right next to the river, in front of an organic farm, with a fantastic view of snowy peaks.
After some rest, enjoy a ride to Ollantaytambo where you will enjoy some time at leisure for own exploration before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes town. Dinner included at the hotel.

DAY 6: MACHU PICCHU/CUSCO| INC: B/L/-

Early in the morning, our staff will assist us on boarding the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the town to board our train back to Cusco.

DAY 7: CUSCO | INC: B/L/D

Start the day off at Cusco’s vibrant San Pedro market, one of the most fascinating places to people watch as Quechua villagers come from the surrounding areas to sell their produce. Here we will select our ingredients that will be used to prepare our lunch.
Later, we will head to the cooking place where our chef will teach us how to prepare our own Cusquenian traditional lunch.

In the afternoon, we will climb up the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman, and start our excursion visiting the fortress with the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace. We will then head for Q’enqo, and ancient temple of the Puma and then Tambomachay, sacred fountains of life and health. On the way we will have a panoramic view from Puca Pucara, a watchtower that controlled the entrance to the city. After that we will visit the Temple of the Sun “The Korikancha”. Finally, we will go to the Main Square and will visit the Cathedral. In the evening, we will go to a local restaurant to enjoy a farewell dinner at Tunupa restaurant where we will also enjoy a live show and an ancestral dance performance.

DAY 1: Arrival in Lima.

Upon arrival into Lima International Airport, you will be met by our representative and private driver and will be transferred to the selected hotel.

Half day Colonial & Modern Lima (shared)
Enjoy a half day morning guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the “City of Kings”. After the tour, return to your hotel.

DAY 3: Lima / Arequipa (B)

At the appropriate time, transfer to the Lima airport to board your flight to the city of Arequipa.
The rest of the morning is at leisure to relax and avoid altitude sickness.

Today a tour of the City, including the Main Square, one of the most beautiful squares in Peru, the Cathedral, La Compañia Church, visit the Santa Catalina Convent a “Small Town” built in the XVII Century and opened to the public in 1970, after 400 years as a cloister.

DAY 4: Arequipa / Colca Canyon (B/B/L)

Early in the morning, depart on a wonderful four-hour journey to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world (3,400 meters above sea level).

DAY 5: Colca Canyon / Puno (B/L)

Morning visit the Condor Cross including en route stops
Very early in the morning, you will be driven to the observation point “Cruz del Condor. On the way back, visit traditional villages with ancient terraces constructed by the Collaguas, a pre-Inka culture.

Afternoon transfer Colca / Puno with guide
After lunch, continue the journey from the Colca Valley heading towards Lake Titicaca. Beautiful landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Puno, transfer to your hotel.

DAY 6: Puno (B/L)

Full day Uros & Taquile Islands including lunch
Early in the morning, you will have an unforgettable motorboat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique “Floating Islands” of the Uros. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island. After lunch, take a walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6 km long Island. Return to your hotel in Puno after the visit.

DAY 7: Puno / Cusco (B/L)

Bus Puno / Cusco including en route stops and lunch
Early departure to the City of Cusco accompanied by our representative and private driver. Travel along the High Plateau of the Collao, visit towns and archaeological sites on the way. Arriving Cusco in the afternoon.

DAY 9: Cusco / Sacred Valley (B/L)

Full day excursion to Pisac Market & Ollantaytambo Fortress
Today you will head to the town of Pisac, famous for its ruins but even more so for its market. Continue through the Sacred Valley for a visit to the Inca fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo Lunch will be served at a local countryside restaurant (meal is not included).

DAY 10: Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu / Cusco (B)

Full day excursion to Machu Picchu via roundtrip Expedition train
Morning transfer to the train station for an amazing train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, the great mountain-top city abandoned by the Inca Empire. In the afternoon, return to Cusco by bus and train combination, and upon arrival at the train station you will be met by our representative for your transfer to the hotel.

The Optimum Mountain Experience
The Natura Vive Skylodge located over the Sacred Valley of Cuzco, Peru, currently has three Adventure Suites: Luna, Silves and Miranda, with a total capacity for eight guests. The Luna is the service module.

Each module utilizes an alternative lighting system with solar panels that stores energy in batteries for the four interior lamps, plus a solar reading lamp for each bed. Each module has a private bathroom separated from the bedroom by an insulating wall, within which is a dry ecological toilet and sink, where you can still enjoy the gorgeous views through the 1.8 meter diameter dome.

The design and features of each module provides first class service with complete comfort. Fine quality mattresses and cotton sheets, down pillows and quilts ensure a warm and pleasant night at 1,312 ft.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: Start your Sacred Valley Skylodge Adventure in Cusco (B/L)

Transfer Airport / Sacred Valley Hotel including Pisac Market & Ollantaytambo Fortress (private)
Upon your arrival in Cusco, you will be met by our guide who will assist you with your luggage and drive you to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Today you will head to the town of Pisac, famous for its ruins and its local market. The Pisac Market was the place of reunion for all artisans of the region to get together and exchange or buy and sell their products.

Ollantaytambo also features the vestiges of the town built by orders of Inca Pachacutec and thought to be not only a strategic military place to control the Sacred Valley of the Incas, but also for agricultural and religious purposes. The archaeological site includes a series of superimposed terraces and stunning finely carved stone blocks located on the upper terrace or Temple of the Sun. Box lunch included on route. After the tour you will be transferred to your hotel.

DAY 4: Machu Picchu (B/L/D)

Morning excursion to Machu Picchu citadel and Machu Picchu Mountain with local private site guide (private)
A guided tour of the Citadel includes the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds.

The legendary ‘Lost City’ is without a doubt one of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites. Built by the Incas on the summit of “Machu Picchu” (old peak), overlooking the deep canyon of the Urubamba river.

Today also hike Machu Picchu Mountain Known as the “Old Mountain”, it is the big mountain standing at 3,000 m. (9, 840 ft) above sea level over Machu Picchu citadel. This mountain is a better option for those looking for a more challenging hike, since climbing to the top takes about 2 hours on a very steep trail. In the morning, return to Cusco by train and upon arrival at the train station you will be met by our representative and driver for your transfer to the hotel.

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city of Cusco, the Imperial City and archaeological capital of South America, where you will be able to admire the finest examples of Inca history and architecture. Continue to Cusco City’s main surrounding ruins: the Sacsayhuaman Fortress – a ceremonial compound and magnificent example of Inca military power that boasts a panoramic view of the city. After the tour you will be transferred to your hotel.
