ITINERARY

DAY 1: LIMA | INC: -/-/-

Arrival in Lima, meet and greet at the airport, transfer to the hotel.
Overnight stay in Lima – Hotel deluxe category.

DAY 2: LIMA | INC: B/L/-

Today we will focus on the exquisite fusion between Peruvian ingredients and diverse world-renowned techniques. In the morning, we will begin our tour in Lima, visiting a typical Peruvian market. We will be witnesses of the variety, freshness and colors of the different products that our country has to offer. We will continue our tour visiting a restaurant, where we will learn how to prepare a delicious Peruvian Ceviche and Pisco Sour, national drink. Finally, we will delight our palates with a traditional lunch in a local restaurant.

Later, we will go to a coffee Lab for a Peruvian coffee experience.
Harry Neira, a “guardian of the Peruvian coffee” will welcome us to his lab and will show us how the Peruvian coffee is produce. We will learn how to brew coffee in a chemex and will taste different coffees from the 3 regions in Peru. We will also have the chance to prepare your own cacaoccino with latte art.

We will finally visit the downtown where we will visit the Cathedral and explore the Santo Domingo Convent, along which corridors San Martin de Porres and San Rosa de Lima used to walk around in 17th century, and where their remains rest today. Finally, the Larco Museum will be awaiting us. This is a mansion built on top of a pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century. There we will find treasures that have been exhibited in the most prestigious museums of the world and it is organized according to techniques. The storeroom and the unique display of erotic pottery of pre-Columbian times are the highlights. We will enjoy lunch at Café del Museo restaurant located inside the Larco museum.

DAY 3: LIMA/CUSCO | INC: B/-/-

Departure transfer to board your domestic flight to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco, welcome and transfer to your hotel.

In the afternoon, enjoy an exclusive city tour that starts at San Cristobal Plaza to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. We will then visit Saint Peter Market, where we will be able to appreciate the local flavors and learn about the local produce in this market where you can find everything and is the main supply center of the city. We will then continue to the Koricancha Temple that will welcome us with its splendor. The Golden Precinct is the meaning of its name in Quechua and we can still feel the sumptuousness of its walls that were once lined in gold sheets. From Saint Blas, the craftsmen’s quarters we will walk down along the Hatun Rumiyoc street, finding midway the Inca Roca Palace, today the Archbishop’s Palace; and we will have time to appreciate the worldwide famous Stone of the Twelve Angles. We will go on to the Main Square to visit the Cathedral that houses invaluable colonial works of art.

DAY 4: CUSCO/SACRED VALLEY | INC: B/L/-

The Sacred Valley of the Incas will welcome us today. We will visit Awanacancha, a tourist complex where we will see and feed the Andean camelids such as the llamas and alpacas, and where the locals will show us the weaving and dyeing techniques of their traditional textiles. We will then continue to Inca and Colonial Pisac. Discover one of the most beautiful archeological sites in the Sacred Valley at the top of the mountain where you can have a view of the colonial town of Pisac. Walking tour to the Colonial town. Time to do some shopping at the handicraft market. Then, we will head to the impressive Inkariy Museum. Here we will enjoy a delicious lunch. We will take a guided tour of the museum to learn more about the numerous rooms where cultural representations of pre-Hispanic civilizations of ancient Peru are exhibited.

DAY 5: SACRED VALLEY/MACHU PICCHU | INC: B/L/D

Our adventure continues exploring the less visited treasures of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will start in Moray where the view is awesome due to the colossal concentric terraces simulating an amphitheater. The purpose of it: to recreate 20 different types of microclimates, a measure that guaranteed the agricultural production of the empire.

After that, we will go to Maras, the famous and millenary salt mines from colonial times. The contrast of the white wells and the green valley is awesome and a must for a spectacular snapshot of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Buffet lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, where we will be able to learn about the technique with which the Incas worked the stones.
Later, we will go to the local station to board our train to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night.
Dinner included at the hotel.
Overnight stay in Machu Picchu – A selection of 2 hotels.

DAY 6: MACHU PICCHU/CUSCO | INC: B/L/-

Early in the morning, we will board the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. At the arranged time, we will enjoy lunch at Tinkuy restaurant before returning to the town to board our train to Ollantaytambo from where we will be transferred to our hotel.

DAY 7: DEPART CUSCO | INC: B/-/-

At the appropriate time transfer from hotel to airport fr your flight to your next destination.
