DAY 2: LIMA (B/L)

A day of Lima flavors combined with a city tour of colonial and modern Lima & Larco Museum
Morning is dedicated to Peruvian cuisine. Today we will have a look at the exquisite fusion of Peruvian ingredients and techniques from various cuisines in the world. We start by visiting a local market to appreciate the key secret of Peruvian cuisine: its varied ingredients. Witness the colors, freshness and variety of local products. We will continue our tour with a visit to a restaurant, where we will learn to prepare a delicious Ceviche and our flagship drink the Peruvian Pisco Sour. Then, we will enjoy an unforgettable lunch!

2251

In the afternoon we will have a tour through Lima’s streets and plazas. Starting at the Love Park in Miraflores, with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, and then heading to the Huaca Pucllana, ceremonial center of the Lima culture. Later we will go to San Isidro, financial center of the city. After this, we go on to the Main Square where the Government Palace and the Town Hall are located. We will visit the Cathedral and explore the Santo Domingo Convent, along which corridors San Martin de Porras and San Rosa de Lima used to walk around in 17th century, and where their remains rest today. Continue our tour now visiting the Larco Museum.

2252

This is a mansion built on top of a pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century. There we will find treasures that have been exhibited in the most prestigious museums of the world and it is organized according to techniques. The storeroom and the unique display of erotic pottery of pre-Columbian times are the highlights. Finally we will stop at an antique Tavern, where we will delight our palates with some delicious Peruvian sandwiches not to be missed, accompanied by a drink made of Pisco, our flagship liquor.
At night and as an optional activity, Astrid y Gaston restaurant is a must; a night of delicious revelations for your senses, thoughtfully created by Peruvian food ambassador and world renowned chef Gaston Acurio.
Overnight accommodations at selected hotel.

DAY 3: Lima / Cusco / Sacred Valley (B/L)

A day to enjoy the flavors and culture of the Sacred Valley
Transfer to airport to catch our flight to Cusco. Upon arrival we will be transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas for a better acclimatization process. Before heading for the hotel, we will stop briefly at the traditional market, with enough free time to go around, see the typical produces and buy handcraft. We will take a few minutes to relax and taste a delicious empanada (filled pastry) or a piece of bread freshly baked in wood ovens. Once we are all checked-in in our hotels, we will head for the Wayra restaurant. La Terraza is the most informal room at Wayra, where we will get rid of all our pretentions to conciliate our proposal with the awesome environment that surrounds us: an overwhelming display of color and contrast brought by the mountains, the popular art, the mural paintings and an inspiring garden. This is the background to a peaceful lunch that combines the delights of the valley with the glamour of the dancing Peruvian horses and the marinera dance (dances may vary depending on the day). Free afternoon to enjoy the hotel facilities.
