Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival in Mendoza
Arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Mendoza has excellent wineries, but also an important olive oil industry, so this tour offers the perfect combination of both. We start by Don Manuel Villafañe Winery, focused on the production of grapes, harvested in small and exclusive vineyards. We continue to an olive oil factory where we enjoy a tasting of oils and delicatessen products (olive paste, dehydrated tomatoes accompanied by homemade bread). Our next stop is the Luigi Bosca Winery, which has remained in the hands of the founding family for four generation offering top of the range wines. Finally, we visit Altavista Winery, which is also considered a historical heritage of Mendoza, since it has not stopped functioning in over a century. It gives the chance to appreciate the coexistence of the old and the modern manufacturing techniques. We enjoy our lunch in the garden of the winery (weather permitting). At the end, return to the city and hotel. Meals: Overnight accommodations at selected hotel Hotel Huentala (Four Stars) Hotel Park Hyatt (Five Stars)
DAY 2; Mendoza
Today we visit the Uco Valley, with its wineries located at up to 1.500 MASL (4.920 ft.), height that provides wines of unique attributes. During the tour, we visit Salentein, Domaine Busquet and Andeluna wineries. Salentein is a winery focused on quality, classic varietal plantations, preservation of old vines, and reinsertion of European artisan techniques along with the use of advanced technology, which results in a variety of internationally accepted top of the range wines. In this winery, we also visit the Killka Space, an interesting array of Argentine art. We continue then to Domaine Bousquet, a winery that has kept its tradition of fine wines for four generations. Finally, Andeluna, framed in an imposing landscape at the base of the Tupungato Volcano, is the ideal place to learn the special features of this region. Wine tasting is included at each visited winery, as well as lunch at one of them, paired with their own wines. Meals: Breakfast, lunch Overnight accommodations at selected hotel Hotel Huentala (Four Stars) Hotel Park Hyatt (Five Stars)
DAY 3: Mendoza / Buenos Aires
In the morning, transfer to board the flight to Buenos Aires. Reception and transfer to the hotel. At due time, we join a panoramic tour around the city. Our second stop is La Boca, but on the way we pass through icons of the city such as the Obelisk and the Colon Theatre, one of the five best opera theaters in the world. Upon arriving at La Boca, we visit its colorful streets; we pass by the conventillos and its well-known Caminito alley, where we can appreciate some handicrafts produced by local artists. We leave the southern part of the city to head north towards the neighbourhoods of Palermo and Recoleta, where we make a final stop to appreciate the contrast of what we have just see with this clearly well-off district, famous for hosting the Recoleta cemetery where relevant personalities are buried.
