IQUITOS & THE EXPLORAMA LODGE PROGRAM

Three Days

DAY 1: LIMA / IQUITOS
On arrival, you are met and transferred to a river boat for a trip down the Amazon River to the Explorama Lodge. Your lodge is located in primary rainforest with the highest bio-diversity of trees in the world. Enjoy a walking tour through the rainforest. This area includes extensive trails of varying duration of walking. Enjoy a night canoe excursion to look for caiman, nocturnal birds, insects, mammals and to enjoy the sounds of the rainforest at night. Overnight at Explorama Lodge (B/L/D)

DAY 2: AMAZON JUNGLE
Morning boat trip to Sapo Playa to observe life along the shore of the river. Walk along the local Amazon River trail with stops along the way to visit the local river people, public river school, local sugar cane run factory and river clinic. Afternoon boat trip to Victoria Lake to see sloths and later on possibly two species of freshwater Dolphins found in the river. Overnight at Explorama Lodge (B/L/D)

DAY 3: DEPART IQUITOS
Morning hike on the ALake Trail, through lowland rainforest. In the afternoon, transfer to Iquitos Airport for the flight to your next destination (B)
