The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is rated among the best trekking trips in the world because of the exquisite beauty of its natural surroundings. These include different ecological areas from high deserts to Andean tropical rainforest. Following this ancient Inca trail we will be walking through mysterious archeological sites, half covered by jungle overgrowth, that looks like you are discovering them for the first time and finally arriving to the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CUSCO
Transfer to hotel. Rest of day at leisure to get acclimatized. Evening briefing. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 2: CUSCO / PISKACUCHO / YUNKACHIMPA
Early morning transfer to Chillca to start the trekking to the first camp site. Visit en route archaeological sites. (B/L/D)

DAY 3: YUNKACHIMPA /WARMIWANUSKA / RUNKURAKAY
Today start trekking to the highest point of the Inca Trail, where we one can see different ecological zones and enjoy changing climates; crossing the Warmiwañuska pass to the campsite at Paqaymayo. (B/L/D)

DAY 4: RUNKURAKAY / CHAQUICOCHA / WINAYWAYNA
A 45 minute trekking will take us to the second pass at 3850 meters above sea level, and will visit Runkurakay, Sayacmarka and Phuyupatamarka ruins. Overnight in Wiñaywayna. (B/L/D)

DAY 5: WINAYWAYNA / MACHU PICCHU /CUSCO
The final trek to Intipunku and Machu Picchu follow by a guided tour of the Citadel. In the afternoon transfer to Aguas Calientes on time for return to Cusco via Vistadome train service. Overnight in Cusco (B)

DAY 6: DEPART CUSCO
Transfer to airport for departure to next destination or return to USA via Lima (B)
