ITINERARY
DAY 1: LIMA or CUZCO / AREQUIPA
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Arequipa. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Arequipa is the most beautiful colonial city of Peru and the second largest. This afternoon, tour the city, visiting Plaza de Armas, the 16th century Convent of Santa Catalina and its architecture, art and furnishings of a world that seems to have stood still since 1579; its surrounding villages and lovely countryside. Overnight in Arequipa.
DAY 2: AREQUIPA / CHIVAY (FOR COLCA CANYON)
This morning, you depart early by motor coach for your excursion to Colca Canyon, reputedly the worlds deepest canyon. You travel north of Arequipa through desert scenery sighting vicuñas, guanacos, alpacas and llamas through its Andean Paramo. Overnight in Colca Canyon area (B/L/D)
DAY 3: COLCA CANYON / AREQUIPA
Depart early this morning to Cruz del Condor, a lookout point with a magnificent view of Mt. Misti and the swiftly flowing river far below. It is here that the Andean Condors are most often sighted. Returning late afternoon to Arequipa for overnight. (B)
DAY 4: DEPART AREQUIPA
Transfer for your flight out for your next destination. (B)
