ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrival in San Jose

Meet and greet at the Juan Santamaría International Airport by our local English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel in San Jose.
Overnight accommodations at Hotel Grano de Oro – Deluxe room

DAY 2: San Jose / Monteverde

Breakfast at hotel. Today you’ll depart towards the North of country, to the cloud forest of Monteverde. After arrival day at leisure.

DAY 3: Monteverde

Breakfast at hotel. Today will enjoy of a full day of adventure in Selvatura Park. After breakfast you will be collected at your hotel to take you to Selvatura
Selvatura Park is a cloud forest conservation project where a wide variety of tours are hosted. Visitors can glide along the zip lines through the cloud forest on the canopy tour or take the treetop walkways consisting of a 1.9 mile trail and eight different bridges that cruise through the forest. The park also has a butterfly garden hosting more than 50 different species of butterflies and a hummingbird garden, a treat for photography lovers and a spectacular air show for anyone who loves nature. There is also an Education Center with a large private insect collection, property of world famous entomologist Dr. Richard Whitten and a Reptile and Amphibian Exhibition. The cloud forest history walk teaches visitors about the natural history of Monteverde. Additional services: restaurant, naturalist guides and transportation.

DAY 4: Monteverde / San Jose

Breakfast at hotel. Today before returning to San Jose and your hotel, you will visit the Monteverde Reserve. Enjoy a four-hour nature tour through the renowned Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve where a local naturalist guide will show and explain to you of the different macro/micro flora and fauna. Visit the Golden Toad’s unique habitat, see birds like the Resplendent Quetzal (the most beautiful bird of the Americas), the three-wattled bell bird, and the black faced solitaire, trees like strangler figs, avocados and cecropias, epiphytes such as bromeliads, orchids and mosses and a wide variety of insects, mammals and reptiles.

Includes: Entrance fee, tour with a bilingual naturalist guide, transportation and a 15 minute-stop at CASEM. (Local women’s handcraft cooperative).

DAY 5: Depart San Jose

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for your next destination in Costa Rica or Private transfer to the international airport for your return flight home. (B)
