DAY 3: Medellin: Peñol and Guatape Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, we leave Medellín and drive for about an hour and a half through a colourful patchwork of crops until arriving to El Peñol Reservoir, built in 1979 as the largest hydroelectric dam in Antioquia. During its construction, the River Nare flooded the area, leaving several hills out of the water which gives a special design resembling fjords of deep blue waters. Next to the dam there is a huge rock called El Peñol that could be climbed to enjoy a wonderful view.
