Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival in Ushuaia
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we visit Tierra del Fuego National Park. Overnight accommodations at selected hotel
DAY 2: Ushuaia / Lago Blanco (Chile)
Very early in the morning we leave Ushuaia to reach the town of Tolhuin, where we make a brief stop at La Union bakery, a meeting point for locals and visitors and part of the charm of this place. We continue north to take Route B, also known as The Route of the Old Estancias, to the interior of the island that takes us to the border with Chile by Paso Radman (border crossing). A few kilometers later we arrive at Lago Blanco, one of the most beautiful villages in Magallanes Region. After lunch (box lunch), we visit the Beavers Valley, where we go for a walk. Dinner. DAY 3: Lago Blanco / Porvenir
We head west to Cameron, a town that was born in what used to be the hull of an old estancia, located on the coast of Inútil Bay. Our next stop is the King Penguin Park, the only penguin colony of its kind outside of Antarctica. After lunch (box lunch), we arrive at Porvenir, initially inhabited by European immigrants motivated by the discovery of gold deposits. From here, we visit a colony of toninas and we explore the town. We recommend visiting the local museum, which maintains an archeology section, which exhibits mummified remains of an aboriginal site from the area. DAY 4: Porvenir / Lago Fagnano
We return to Argentina taking the old route of the gold diggers, which takes us to San Sebastián border crossing, to then reach Rio Grande. We continue to the south until we cross “A” Provincial Route, a gravel road that leads us to the Atlantic Ocean and Cape San Pablo. Here, we have lunch (box lunch), and make a walk to admire an abandoned lighthouse and appreciate El Desdemona, a ship that ran aground almost 40 years ago and invites us to make a journey in time. We return to Route A and we continue to Lago Fagnano or Lake Khami that means big Water. DAY 5: Lago Fagnano / Ushuaia
We return to Ushuaia and, on the way, we stop at Paso Garibaldi the highest point of the island with 1045 MASL. From this point we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Lago Escondido and Lago Fagnano. Arrival to the city and at due time, transfer to the airport. Travelled distance: 97 km (60 miles) Meals: Breakfast
